AAC Guide Martin Torresquintero lead a small group of climbers to El Cocuy National Park in Colombia's Eastern Cordillera.  The party included famed alpinist and explorer Kurt Diemberger, Sang Park, Edythe Hulet and Gregory Frux.  The trip ran from September 8th through the 27th, 2012. Despite daily rain attempts were made on two of park major peaks Pan de Azucar a (16,896 ft) and Ritak Uwa Blanco (17,749 ft), with some success. The beautiful landscape and unique highland plants are the stand out features of this region.
