Friday November 15, 2013 - Everest West Ridge Climb from 1963 Presentation

If you missed or were shut out of the NY Section's 34th Annual Black Tie Dinner last Saturday, you still have a chance to learn about the daring Everest West Ridge climb of Tom Hornbein and Willi Unsoeld during the 1963 American Everest Expedition.

Mountainfilm of Telluride will be screening "HIgh and Hallowed" a 50 minute prize winning film at the Film Society of Lincoln Center on Friday, November 15th at 6:30 PM. The theater is located on West 65th Street, adjacent to Lincoln Center. Screen time is 6:30 PM.

New AAC Live Your Dream Grants Now Available

American Alpine Club "Live Your Dream" Grants Now AvailableThe purpose of the "Live Your Dream" Climbing Grant is to fund individuals or small teams in pursuit of their personal climbing dreams. The emphasis of the grant is on projects that have significant positive impact on grantees' progressions as climbers, as opposed to cutting-edge or exploratory objectives. The "Live Your Dream" Climbing Grants are developed and administered locally with community support. For the Northeast Region, the "Live Your Dream" Climbing Grant seeks to support climbers from a range of ages and experience levels, as well as a range of climbing disciplines (sport climbing, bouldering, traditional rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, etc.). Climbers from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland are eligible for the Northeast Region grant.
